We are a reputable criminal defense law firm seeking a highly motivated and skilled Junior Associate Lawyer with 1 to 3 years of experience in criminal law. As a member of our team, you will have the opportunity to work on a wide range of criminal cases and contribute to the success of our clients' defense strategies.

Responsibilities:

• Managing and conducting set dates
• Reviewing disclosure, conducting legal research, and writing
• Managing files from arrest to trial
• Conducting bail hearings
• Conducting CPTs and JPTs
• Conducting pleas and resolutions
• Regularly communicating with clients and managing the client relationship
• Conducting trials and preliminary hearings

Skills and Requirements:

• 1-3 years of experience in criminal law
• Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
• Strong work ethic and ability to work independently
• Passionate about ensuring the highest quality defense for every client
• Excellent research and writing skills, with the ability to work independently
• Flexible schedule; availability outside of regular office hours is required
• Friendly demeanor and strong communication skills with clients and Crowns
• Confidence and comfort in making submissions in court
• Quick study and eager to learn

Additional Requirements:

• Valid driver's license and access to a car as needed
